Science and Faith: Not in Conflict
Core Argument
Modern science was born within a Christian worldview — this is no coincidence. Christianity's belief in a rational God who created an orderly universe provides the philosophical preconditions for scientific inquiry: nature is law-governed, intelligible, and worth studying. Many of history's greatest scientists were devout Christians: Newton, Kepler, Faraday, Maxwell, Pascal. Science answers 'how' questions (mechanism), faith answers 'why' questions (meaning and purpose) — they are complementary, not contradictory. Claiming science eliminates God is like claiming that understanding how an engine works eliminates the engineer.
