但上帝创造人不只是为了展示能力。正如父母在孩子出生前就开始为他预备房间、衣物、食物——这一切都出于爱。上帝为人类预备了适宜居住的地球，阳光、水、空气、食物，一切所需，然后将人安置其中。这说明上帝的大爱。
约翰福音3:16说「上帝爱世人，甚至将祂的独生子赐给他们。」创造的终极目的不是让人成为被动的观众，而是让人回应上帝的爱，与祂建立真实的关系。
